Pest, termite structural continuing ed course offered Dec. 11 in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO – Those interested in earning continuing education units for pest and termite structural licenses may wish to attend the Dec. 11 Structural CEU Course sponsored by the Texas AgriLife Extension Service.The course will be presented from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in suite 208 of the AgriLife Extension office for Bexar County, 3355 Cherry Ridge Dr. in San Antonio. Registration is from 8-8:30 a.m.
“This course will be most beneficial to those who already have their structural license and want to get some or all of their CEUs before the end of the year,” said Molly Keck, AgriLife Extension entomologist and integrated past management program specialist, Bexar County. “But anyone with an interest in urban and structural pest control is welcome to attend.”
Keck said program topics will include Rasberry crazy ants, desert/agricultural termites, delusional parasitosis and harmful spiders.
“Rasberry crazy ants, an invasive and difficult-to-control species, will be addressed during the course,” she said. “We’ll also address identification and treatment of termites and spiders, as well as a how to handle issues relating to delusional parasitosis, an unusual psychological condition.”
Program topics are applicable toward units in integrated pest management, termite, general and pest categories.
“All presentations will include the most current university-based information and research,” Keck said.
The cost for the course is $30 and is payable only by check upon registration. Checks should be made payable to: Acct. # 233100.
